For a desk that remembers older things — pure copper, cast in ancient scroll-work and taotie patterns, finished in a patina that looks found rather than made.

There is something about aged bronze that silences a room. This tripod incense burner arrives already wearing its history — a verdigris patina over deep copper, teal-green pooling in the carved recesses, warm copper-brown standing on the raised ridges. It does not look new. That is entirely by design.

The body is cast pure copper, round and low, resting on three blunt feet. Around its equator runs a band of carved patterns drawn from classical Chinese bronzeware — taotie masks, scroll forms, cloud and thunder motifs whose origins trace back thousands of years. The visual language is formal and archaic, the kind found on vessels made for ritual rather than everyday use. The dome lid is pierced with an openwork floral lattice. Smoke rises through it in thin ribbons, and the lid itself doubles as a diffuser — holding fragrance in the interior long enough to mellow before releasing it.

At 6.5 by 6.2 centimeters, this is a burner for the desktop or the altar corner, not for a large room. Its presence is intimate. It holds a coil, a cone, or a short stick, and it asks to be used close at hand — on a writing surface, a reading shelf, a meditation corner.

The patina finish deepens with use and touch over time. An object like this does not stay still; it continues becoming itself in the room where it lives.

Materials: Pure copper with handcrafted antique verdigris patina finish

Handle with care to preserve the patina. Wipe lightly with a dry cloth after use. Do not use chemical cleaners or abrasives. The natural patina may develop further over time with handling — this is expected and desirable.

About Agarwood

Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.

Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
