Size — wrist

For the wrist that wants its materials to do the color work — Kynam agarwood discs, vivid South Red Agate, and green nephrite jade in a composition where dark wood and bright stone take turns carrying the eye.

The agarwood here is cut as discs rather than rounds — flat, close together on the strand, the grain running across the face of each piece in warm dark brown with visible resin striations. At roughly 8.5 mm across, the discs sit in small clusters around the bracelet, each one slightly different from the next. Three or four discs, then a stone, then more discs — the rhythm of the bracelet is set by that alternation between dark flat wood and the single vivid bead that interrupts it.

The South Red Agate is for the warmth. The agate rounds are approximately 10.5 mm — noticeably larger than the discs, and saturated. South Red from is the reference: a deep orange-red stone with natural color, no dye, the red coming from the mineral content of the agate itself. The color carries a slight depth — you can see into the surface before the red resolves — and it reads as warm against the cool tones of the wood and the jade.

The green jade is for the cool. Smooth apple-green nephrite rounds, about 8.5 mm, appear at intervals between the agate stations. Against the dark agarwood discs the green reads as the quiet counterpart to the agate's heat. The composition alternates deliberately — wood, red, wood, green, wood, red — so that each section creates the next one's contrast.

The treasure bowl charm is for the focal point. A small carved agarwood block in the form of a traditional treasure bowl hangs at the front of the bracelet, with a small turtle resting on the lid. A short chain drops below with a tiny crystal at the end. The charm sways with the wrist — a small pendulum motion that keeps the piece in quiet movement throughout the day.

At approximately 12 grams total, the bracelet is present without being heavy. The agarwood is the foundation and the fragrance. The South Red is the warmth — vivid in a way carnelian cannot replicate. The jade is the cool that keeps the red from dominating.

For the wrist that wants something composed, with several materials each carrying their own register.

About Agarwood

Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.

Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
