Most compressed incense uses a binder to hold the powder together. These discs do not. The powder is pressed entirely dry — no water introduced during forming, no adhesive in the mix. What burns is agarwood and nothing else. The fragrance you experience is the fragrance of the material itself, not of the material diluted by filler.

The agarwood used here is Kynam grade — the rarest and most prized classification within the agarwood hierarchy. Sinking-grade: the resin density is high enough that the material sinks in water, which collectors use as a benchmark for quality. The scent profile in this batch is strongly floral: the opening is cool and transparent, a clean note that enters the room before the fragrance settles; this is followed by a shift into dense floral warmth, a honey-sweet richness that expands as the disc burns through. The discs are shaped in the traditional auspicious cloud form — a flat, pressed round with the cloud silhouette embossed in gold on its face. Each disc is individually sealed in its own clear blister pack, then packed together in a clear cylindrical case, then enclosed in a red gift box. The packaging is designed to be given as well as kept. Each disc comes with its own fireproof cotton pad; place the pad flat, set the disc on it, light the edge, and let the room receive what follows.
