Kynam Agarwood Necklace, South Red Agate Focal, Turquoise & Pearl Accents
For the neck that wants its center to say persimmon-red — Kynam agarwood rounds along the full strand, a South Red Agate barrel at the focal point, with turquoise and pearl as the cool and neutral counterpoints.
The full strand is warm-brown Kynam agarwood rounds, approximately 4–6 mm, the wood surface consistent all the way around the length. The agarwood is the ground material here — not an accent, not a secondary note, but the thread the entire composition runs on. The fragrance is present from the full circumference of beads throughout the day.
The Kynam agarwood is for the fragrant foundation. The dark warm rounds that carry the piece and give the warm red something to read against. The wood is the continuous note, the material that ties every other element back into one composition.
The South Red Agate is for the focal point. At the center front, a thick barrel of South Red roughly 15 mm across and 22 mm tall — a short, weighty cylinder rather than a round bead. The color is persimmon-red, the vivid orange-red range of South Red from at its most saturated, the direct cut showing the color consistently from top to bottom. Smaller South Red disc-cut pieces appear as secondary accents on either side of the main barrel, flat slices through the stone in the same vivid red, giving the focal area a small cluster quality before the strand resolves back into single-material agarwood on either side.
The turquoise is for the cool counterpoint. Small turquoise rounds appear at intervals higher on the strand — blue-green, the cool note that sits as the visual opposite of the warm South Red. The placement is sparing rather than continuous: the turquoise marks a few specific points along the wood rather than running through it, which lets the color register as a deliberate accent.
The pearl is for the neutral light. Small freshwater pearls appear alongside the turquoise, their soft cream-pink surface providing a third color register — the neutral that sits between the warm red below and the cool blue-green above. Together, the turquoise and pearl give the upper portion of the necklace a lighter, more varied character than the agarwood-only sections flanking the focal cluster.
The composition reads as a clear three-part conversation: a warm fragrant ground, a saturated red center, and cool and neutral accents above. Each element earns its place by being legibly different from the others — the necklace is busy enough to be interesting, sparse enough to remain quiet.

About Agarwood
Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.
Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
