Tri-color mine turquoise is for the eye that slows down. High-porcelain mine-origin turquoise showing three distinct natural colors in a single stone — sky-blue, green-blue, and golden-brown — is not common. The three colors appear where different mineral compounds meet in the host rock, and the result is a stone that looks different in different light, at different angles. The round beads show each color in its own arc. The bracelet rewards a slow look.

The heart-peach focal is for luck and longevity. At the centre of each bracelet sits a turquoise stone carved into the heart-peach form — the traditional Chinese shape that reads at once as a heart and as the peach of long life. It is the form given as a wish for a long, full existence; it is the form given as a token of love. Carrying both meanings at once is the point. The focal is large, polished smooth, and unambiguously the centre of the composition: the eye finds it first and returns to it last.

Warm white accent beads are for the quiet pause. Between the turquoise rounds and the heart-peach focal sit small warm-white beads — creamy, smooth, slightly translucent. They are the rest notes in the composition: the moments of stillness between the cool blue of the turquoise and the warm dark of the agarwood. Without them, the contrasts would shout. With them, the bracelet breathes.
