At approximately 8 mm+, these are substantial beads — present without being heavy, the oil saturation in the resin channels giving them a density that tells you the fragrance will last.

The worm-bore surface presents more area than a smooth round bead, and the resin channels carry the oil close to the surface, where the warmth of the skin draws it out continuously. No heat required.
