Size — wrist

For the wrist that holds shadow in one half and fire in the other — Kynam agarwood and South Red Agate in a single strand, each material given its own territory, nothing blending, nothing yielding.

Two materials, one bracelet, split at the center. The matte dark wood occupies one half; the glossy terracotta red holds the other. They don't blend — they coexist, each fully itself, which is a more interesting arrangement than harmony for its own sake.

The Kynam agarwood is for the quiet half. Barrel-cut beads in dark gray-brown, their matte surface showing the natural fiber grain of the wood in clear, unhurried lines. This is not polished agarwood — no lacquer, nothing smoothed away. Against the skin, the fragrance opens steadily: Kynam's characteristic warmth, low and persistent throughout the day. The barrel cut exposes more surface than a round bead, so the scent has more contact with the air. You wear this half and the fragrance follows you at a distance.

The South Red Agate is for the warm half. Barrel-cut beads in terracotta red — polished to a ceramic smoothness that catches light evenly across the surface. This is aged-patina South Red: stone in which the color has had time to settle and deepen rather than sitting on the surface like paint. The red is not the vivid crimson of freshly cut South Red. It is richer, more anchored — the brick-red warmth that the source tradition calls the color of good fire. Against the dark wood on the other side of the bracelet, the contrast is not subtle. It is deliberate and complete.

The gem-set spacers are for what the eye keeps returning to. Flat spacer rondelles sit between every bead, maintaining the bracelet's rhythm and keeping each bead distinct. On the South Red section, these rondelles are set with small colored stones — red, green, blue, purple in miniature, each one a point of color. It is detail you notice only on close inspection. Once noticed, it changes how the whole piece reads: less utilitarian, more considered than the overall silhouette suggests.

Wood generates fire. This is one of the oldest organizing principles in the Chinese five-element tradition — each element giving rise to the next in a continuous cycle. On the wrist, the pairing follows the same logic: dark, steady wood beside warm, active red. The material logic was already there before anyone had to name it.

For the wrist that wants color without softness. Warmth without sweetness. A piece that reads clearly from across the room and rewards much closer attention.

Materials: Kynam agarwood (7 mm barrel-cut beads, matte, natural grain) · South Red Agate (7 mm barrel-cut beads, polished terracotta red, aged patina) · spacer rondelles spacers (plain and gem-set with multicolor stones)

Natural materials — wood grain and agate color vary by piece. Avoid water. Store in a sealed pouch when not worn.

About Agarwood

Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.

Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
