For the neck that wants old-money restraint with a vivid center — dark agarwood rounds along the full 56 cm, one large South Red sphere at the focal point, jadeite and turquoise accents carried throughout.

The strand is 56 cm plus a 2 cm extension — the length that falls at or just below the collarbone, the kind of piece that sits against the chest rather than hanging free. Dark Kynam agarwood rounds run the full circle at approximately 5+ mm, the beads small enough that the strand reads as a continuous dark ground rather than a series of individual elements. The fragrance is present from the full length of beads throughout the day, the warmth of the chest sufficient to release the wood's scent without heat.

The South Red Agate is for the vivid center that the strand leads toward. At the focal point, the main South Red sphere: 14+ mm, vivid orange-red, South Red in the persimmon-red range where the color carries most fully. The single large bead is what the full length of agarwood arrives at. At 14+ mm against 5 mm agarwood, the focal sphere reads immediately as the center of the composition. Smaller South Red accent beads at approximately 7 mm appear at intervals in the lower section — the same vivid red in a size that reads as a secondary note rather than a focal piece, building the composition from smaller accents upward to the large focal sphere at the base.

The jadeite is for the bright cool counterpoint. Jadeite appears in small irregular pieces — A-grade Burmese jadeite in the spicy bright-green color range, each piece slightly different in form. The irregularity is part of the character; these are not machine-cut rounds but pieces that carry their natural edge. Against the dark agarwood, the bright green jadeite appears as the cool note that the warm South Red needs in order to read as warm.

The turquoise is for the second cool note that completes the range. Turquoise in disc/rondelle form appears alongside the jadeite at intervals — blue-green, horizontal flat rounds. The two cool-toned stones appear in the upper and lower sections of the strand, flanking the agarwood and building toward the large red focal sphere.

The agarwood is for the ground — the quiet, dark, fragrant strand that the composition builds on. The South Red is for the center: the vivid focal sphere that everything leads toward. The jadeite and turquoise are for the accents — the cool notes that make the warm red focal piece read as vivid by contrast.

About Agarwood

Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.

Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
