Kynam Agarwood Necklace, Wax Amber, Turquoise & Wax Pendant
For the neck dressed in quiet warmth — Kynam agarwood abacus beads, sun-warm wax amber in two tones, a single sky-blue turquoise breath, and a square white wax pendant at the centre.
Some necklaces are assembled. This one was composed. The Kynam agarwood beads that make up most of the chain are cut in the abacus shape — a traditional form that gives each bead a gentle convex belly, flattering the light and creating a rhythmic, organic texture along the strand. Dark in base tone with the characteristic grain of sinking-grade wood, they move with the wearer and rest quietly when still.
The agarwood is for groundedness. Each abacus bead holds the slow density of wood that has spent years building resin. The grain is visible, honest, a record of the tree's life written across a warm surface. The shape is ancient in Chinese jewellery tradition — said to bring clarity of thought, to steady the mind that carries too much at once.
The yellow wax amber is for warmth. Round amber beads in honey-yellow and cream-white scatter through the necklace in a dual-tone contrast, their translucent depth catching light in a way the wood never could. The two amber tones sit close together — a deliberately gentle contrast, warm and buttery, never jarring. Where the agarwood grounds, the amber glows.
The sky-blue turquoise is for the space between. Small disc chips of sky-blue turquoise appear at intervals along the chain — a cool mineral note against the warmth of amber and the darkness of wood. They are quiet, barely present, and yet they are the reason the palette breathes. Without them, the necklace would be a study in earth tones. With them, it opens.
The white wax pendant is for the focal. At the centre hangs a square white wax amber piece — cushion-cut, substantial, with the smooth, milky surface of high-quality material. The framing gives it the weight of a formal statement without the stiffness of one.
The silk tassel is for movement. On the left side of the chain, a hand-tied amber-gold silk tassel falls freely — a gesture of softness against the precision of the pendant, a reminder that this piece was made by hand. It moves when the wearer moves.
Worn on the body, the whole composition settles into a warm, layered palette that shifts between dark earth, golden light, and a single breath of sky blue.
Materials: Kynam agarwood (sinking-grade, abacus-cut beads, 12mm), yellow and white wax amber (round beads), sky-blue turquoise (disc chips), white wax amber pendant (square), silk tassel
Keep away from water, perfume, and prolonged direct sunlight. The amber and wax components may be sensitive to heat; avoid leaving in a closed vehicle. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.

About Agarwood
Agarwood forms when an aquilaria tree responds to injury by producing a dense, resin-saturated heartwood. The rarer the resin, the deeper the fragrance.
Kynam is the highest grade — soft, oily, complex. Its scent shifts from sweet to floral to woody throughout the day.
